Two ways to take a break
Respite at home means one of our care professionals comes to your loved one, keeping their routine, surroundings and independence exactly as they are. Everything from personal care and medication to meals, companionship and overnight support can be covered for as long as you need.
A short stay at our care home offers the alternative: your loved one moves into our residential care home for a planned period, with a private room, home-cooked meals, daily activities and trained staff on site around the clock. It suits holidays, recovery after a hospital stay, or times when a little more support is needed.

How do I arrange respite care?
In some areas, respite care may be provided following your carer's assessment, while in others it may be based on a needs assessment for the person you care for. If either assessment identifies a need for respite care, your local council should help provide it. Financial support may also be available, although it is means-tested.
